Caving requires tough equipment: No wonder, considering the kilometre-long, damp and gravely passages and constant contact with the rock. Your safety equipment in particular should be ready to withstand all the wear and tear. It needs to be wear resistant with built-in redundancy just in case a small pebble or a frozen rope blocks the system.
Specifically designed for caving, the Camp Turbochest chest ascender will deliver the safety you need. Its compact, ergonomic construction with two proprietary rollers serves to increase climbing efficiency and reduce dangerous wear on the device. This is a patented design. The toothed cam is finished with a special anti-wear treatment and equipped with special drain holes to help prevent the build up of mud, grit and ice. The main opening is curved slightly to optimise the position of the device on the body.
The Camp Turbochest chest ascender is suitable as a locking pulley for light hauling (up to 50kg).
For caving pursuits that involve long climbs with a free-hanging rope, the use of the chest ascender and two foot ascenders is recommended. You must practice before heading out.
