Listen up fellow sport climbers! The Salewa Red 9.6 mm Rope is a textbook example of a sport climbing rope. With its 9.6 mm diameter, the climbing rope offers the perfect balanced of handling, a low weight per meter and a soft catch. Perfect for difficult sport climbing routes on the rocks! Of course, the Red 9.6 mm can be used for gym climbing as well, but it would almost be a crime to use it just for training!
Now onto the hard facts: The rope has an impact force of 8.1 kN and a dynamic elongation of 34%. That'll make for a soft catch! The diameter of 9.6 mm will fit most newer belay devices. But, it'd be a good idea to look into the compatibility of older devices in advance. The Dry Tech treatment serves to provide water and dirt resistance (however, it's not in line with the UIAA standard for water-repellent climbing ropes).
