When there's a dangerous situation the avalanche equipment has to be precise, robust and easy-to-use. Especially the probe shouldn't be flexible or take a long time to assemble. And this is definitely not the case with the Pieps Probe Aluminum available in two versions with either 2.6 or 3 m of length! This lightweight probe has a high rigidity and can be dropped in a matter of seconds while the individual segments put themselves together perfectly due to the Speed-Cone System. With the leash on the handle you can lock the probe in place with just one pull and have it ready for action. The segments are in contrasting colors and, thus, already provide a rough estimation. For determining the exact burial depth there's a scale in centimeters attached. Via special reinforcements on the upper part of the probe the Probe Aluminum is safely kept in place and you won't lose precious time due to it slipping around in case of emergency.
