It seems we often have to make a choice with cycling gloves: the weight and protection of full-fingers, or the low-weight and padding mesh half-fingers. If you've been on the hunt for the latter with a touch of the former, however, look no further than the Pearl Izumi Men's Elite Gel Full-Finger Gloves, combining the excellent fit and cushioning of a half-finger glove with longer finger sleeves for more cool weather protection.
The Elite Gel Gloves were sewn from a combination of synthetic mesh and synthetic leather. While mesh was used for the back of the gloves, the palms were constructed of synthetic leather with an In-R-Cool mesh lining. This lining helps to wick moisture away from your skin so that it evaporates out of the mesh inserts. A soft wiping surface on the thumb is perforated for added ventilation. Silicone grip has been added to the two forefingers to ensure that your hands won't slip while shifting or braking.
Pearl Izumi uses its 1:1 Glove Fit which allows the glove to stretch over your hand minimizing bunching between fingers and on the palm. Additionally, 1:1 padding is anatomically designed to work with your hands. Bridges over both the ulna and medial nerve, for example, eliminate pinching. The gloves are secured with a hook-and-loop closure.
