Perfect for trekking, mountaineering and crossing the Alps in bad weather - the Exped Vela 1 Extreme . This one-man tent is perfect for use in Northern European countries, down under or in Alaska. Basically, just about anywhere you can find sand flies, no-see-ums, midges, mosquitos and other like-minded pests that are out to ruin your outdoor adventure! The mosquito net on this tent so fine that itll even keep out little buggers that are hardly even visible.
The Vela I Extreme is made to withstand harsh conditions but weighs in at only 1.75 kilograms. The flysheet is made of very strong, silicone-coated Ripstop nylon and has sealed seams and a hydrostatic head of 1,500mm. The completely seamless tub floor has a hydrostatic head of 10,000mm, so even if you pitch your tent in a wet area, you wont have to worry about water getting in. The aluminium poles are some of the highest quality money can buy! Thanks to the optimal weight-to-strength ratio, this tent is perfectly suited for use in harsh conditions. Pitching the tent is easy, even with gloves on or at twilight.
The Exped Vela 1 Extreme also features a two-sided roll-up fly, which allows you to quickly dry the inner tent or air out the interior. Whats more, the inner tent can be closed without using a zip by rolling up and securing the entrance. This is much less faulty than a zip and easy to do with gloves on.
As for the Vela 1 Extremes vestibule, it is astoundingly spacious for a one-man tent and will provide you with enough room to cook if and when it starts to rain. The interior is also very comfortable for a 1-man tent. So, youll have plenty of room to store the contents of your backpack. With a height of 95cm, youll be able to sit upright in the middle of the tent, which will make waiting out the rain much more tolerable. After all, its a lot more comfortable to sit and eat!
