Continental brings all its technical tire expertise to bear on the front- and rear-specific Grand Prix Attack/Force Clincher tire set. The narrow Attack tire streamlines your front wheel and grips through corners and on fast descents, and its tread pattern is also designed to channel water for added confidence. The wider Force tire improves the rear contact patch and uses a damn-the-torpedoes tread pattern for better acceleration.
Both Continental tires feature the specially-formulated Black Chili rubber compound. By now, you‘re no doubt familiar with this stuff, but it bears recapping its key points. Black Chili nets 26% less rolling resistance, 30% more supple grip, and a 5% increase in tire life over similar models. The tires‘ life is also saved from catastrophes that would cripple other tires courtesy of the lightweight Vectran puncture protection, which is harder than Aramid and five times stronger than steel. It‘s also lighter than nylon thread, so there‘s no weight penalty attached. Wear indicators show when the tires are ready to put out to pasture.
